The first thing you notice about Jan is the red hair
(usually covered by a sharp-looking hat).
The second thing you notice is the attitude that goes with it.
Look up the phrase “fiery redhead” in the dictionary and there’s
a drawing of Jan. Actually it’s the same drawing shown right here! (Thank
goodness they don’t copyright those things.) Jan’s certainly not
one to be bossed around, which is why it’s so appropriate that here at
Jangle, she is the boss. Along with Gale, Jan founded Jangle in 2003, putting
her 25+ years of advertising/marketing experience to work as the head of her
own agency.
Leadership is a familiar role for Jan who served as COO and creative director
at the agency where she previously worked. She knows how to rally the troops
and make appropriate strategic decisions based on her quarter of a century’s
worth of knowledge. Her passion for the business and helping clients achieve
success in their respective industries is contagious … and should never
be questioned unless you wish to feel her wrath. Those of us who have learned
this the hard way still carry the scars. Both physical and mental.
Jan knows it all from creating traditional and online marketing campaigns for
consumer and business-to-business clients to the importance of creative strategy,
positioning and branding. Despite working herself up through the ad world as
a copywriter, she does get along well with designers and excels at managing
all personality types in the creative department.
Jan serves as president of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the International Association
of Business Communicators (IABC), generously offers her marketing and communications
expertise to many not-for-profit and faith-based organizations and likes to
buy funky hats.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kentucky
and completed graduate work in marketing communications from Temple University
in Philadelphia (she couldn’t believe all the ce-ment ponds that were
in the city). She is a graduate of the Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies
course sponsored by the American Association of Advertising Agencies. Reds enjoys
spending time with her two children and two young dogs acquired from Dalmation
Rescue.
